Cambridge University Freshers' Events
Alumni and current students are helping new students prepare for Cambridge this summer
Many Alumni Groups host pre-arrival Freshers’ Events in August and September for students starting a course at the University in Michaelmas Term. Freshers’ Events provide an opportunity for incoming students to make new friends, ask questions and get an idea of what to expect when they arrive. Attendees can benefit greatly from speaking to current students, recent graduates and alumni offering information and advice about living and studying at Cambridge.
Read testimonials from last year's event attendees.
How you can help
If your Group is interested in hosting a Freshers' Event, please read the Organiser Support Pack and register your event, ideally before Friday 20 July for maximum publicity. If you have any questions, please email email@example.com.
11.6.18 Update to Organiser Support Pack: UK organisers are asked not to hold a Freshers' Events, nor contact offer holders or their schools and colleges, during the two UCAS embargo periods. Full details, including dates, are published in section 3 of the pack.
We are keen to hear from current students and recent graduates interested in attending one of this year’s Freshers' Events to help welcome attendees and share your experiences of living and studying in Cambridge. This is great opportunity to make a direct and considerable difference towards helping new students prepare for university, and also to widen your networks with students and alumni.
Please view the list of events that are recruiting volunteers. To register your interest, please complete an Expression of Interest Form. For more information about the role, please download the Volunteer Role Profile.
