Auckland - Freshers' Event

The Cambridge Society of Auckland warmly invites new students starting a course at Cambridge this autumn for informal drinks in Auckland before the start of term.
This is a great opportunity to prepare for university and make some friends before you arrive. You can expect to meet alumni, from whom you can get tips and advice for living and studying at Cambridge.
There will also be a short talk from Alice White, a PhD student at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, about competing in the Boat Race against Oxford in 2017 and 2018. Alice is in New Zealand courtesy of the Student Travel Award, for which applications open in January 2019.
Refreshments: soft drinks, wine and cheese will be provided, free of charge
Guests: you are welcome to bring a guest (such as a parent, guardian or friend)
Dress code: there is no dress code; please wear whatever you feel comfortable in

Please note that the venue is the workplace of a member of the Alumni Group hosting the event

Location: the venue is the glass fronted building at the bottom of Nelson Street. Access is through the main entrance on the corner of Fanshawe Street and Market Place
Parking: street parking is available. The Downtown car park is best value and only a 5 minute walk away
