2016 Alumni Group Leadership Conference

2016 Alumni Group Leadership Conference

  • Leadership Conference

On Saturday, 9 July we welcomed 68 representatives from 40 different Alumni Groups to The Moller Centre in Cambridge for the 7th Alumni Groups Leadership Conference. This was a full day of plenaries, breakout discussions and not to forget tasty food!

Some terrific discussions were had in the breakout discussions and in the main plenary sessions too and overall the Conference was enjoyed by all who attended.

Leadership Conference presentations

We welcomed Jon Beard from the Cambridge Admission Office, who spoke on ‘How Alumni Groups can help with Admissions’.

Stephen Davison and Paul Holland, from the Office of External Affairs and Communications, explained how our University is currently perceived and how Groups can help.

John Pritchard and Dame Barbara Stocking presented on the latest news from the Alumni Advisory Board and their future plans.

Bruce Mortimer and Victoria Kimonides offered an inside peak as to how the Development and Alumni Relations office views an alumnus/a journey, the key touch points through this journey and how Groups can tap into these key points.

All the speakers have kindly shared their presentations, which can be found below.

Breakout discussions

Much information, as well as a great many ideas and best practices were shared during the 14 breakout sessions. Notes were made from each session, which we are pleased to be able to share with you. Please see the link below.

Demographic summaries

One of the biggest ideas to come out of the Conference was for Groups to truly understand the demographic make up of their local alumni. We are able to help you understand your alumni community by providing you with a demographic summary of alumni in your city or country. We can also supply further analysis, for instance, where your recent graduates are based within your region.

Please email Claire Baxter to request a demographic summary.
