Alumni and guests are invited to join the Northumbrian Cambridge Association for a winter outing, we will begin with a visit to the historic Lit & Phil, the largest independent library outside of London, where we shall be given a guided tour. From there, we shall walk the short distance to the exciting Stephenson Quarter, presently being developed by David Clouston. Located behind the Central Station, this area, formerly a hive of industrial activity, had largely fallen into disuse, and it will be fascinating to see what has now been made of it.

We will assemble at 10.00 at the Lit & Phil for coffee and biscuits, and the one hour tour of the building and its treasures will begin at 10.30 (two guides will be available). This will allow walking time to our next port of call, the Stephenson Quarter for 11.45, where we shall have a tour of the University Technical College (UTC), followed by lunch at 12.45/13.00 at the Crowne Plaza.
