Norwich - Visit to Assembly House - Memory of Water
Norwich - Visit to Assembly House - Memory of Water
The Norfolk Cambridge Society invites alumni and their guests to join them at Assembly House to watch the theatre production - Memory of Water.
The visit will begin at 4.30pm and will include a look backstage to see how the Noverre is converted into a theatre in the round. At one time, the Noverre was a cinema and the rehearsal room/green room was the projectionist room. The play, Memory of Water by Shelagh Stephenson, which won the 2000 Laurence Olivier Award for the Best New Comedy, is directed by Richard Hand, the Professor of Media Practice at UEA. He will talk to us about the play and about directing in the round.
Programme
- 4.30pm - Arrival time, with a chance to look backstage
- 5.30pm - We will have supper in the dining room at the Assembly House. There will be a choice of the two or three-course pre-theatre menu
- 7.30pm - We will attend the performance of the play
