Special events

A number of Colleges and Departments are putting on special events during the Festival weekend. Booking details for each event can be found below.

Friday

  • Chemistry of Wine "Call My Bluff" Alumni Wine Tasting - Friday 27 September - 5.30pm - 8.00pm
It's wine tasting, Jim, but not as we know it....
Sip on your first glass of wine and try to guess its provenance as you stroll through the student poster exhibition, where real, live students will be happy to explain their work. Then enjoy a short talk about chemistry research going on here in the Department, followed by four rounds of unusual and delicious wines, in which three chemistry (but not necessarily wine!) experts will describe each wine's attributes - the catch is that you and your table must decide who is telling the truth, and who is bluffing! All accompanied by the usual bad puns, good snacks and this year’s fiendish wine quiz - designed for oenophiles and oeno-illaterati alike.
    Tickets £10
