Come and hear from two speakers with extensive experience in social entrepreneurship and social innovation including Financial Management, Investments and Community Economic Development.

This is the sixth meeting of CAMentrepreneurs Scotland and its first event in Glasgow. Anyone who is interested in Social Entrepreneurship is welcome to attend and network with like-minded people.

The event will be moderated by Dr. Claudia M. Duffy, leader of CAMentrepreneurs Scotland. There will also be time for Q&A, so you can get additional insights, as well as time to chat with other attendees over refreshments, before and after the talks.
 

Speaker profiles

Thomas Gillan
Deputy Chief Executive at Social Investment Scotland

Thomas is responsible for the financial management and strategic planning within SIS; working closely with The Chief Executive to deliver the overall vision and mission of the organisation. He is passionate about mission-led entrepreneurship, connecting organisations with investors to support inclusive growth and social impact. 
 

Dr. Michelle Fava 
Junior Research Fellow, Cambridge School of Art
Co-founder, Thinking Through Drawing

Dr Michelle Fava holds a PhD in drawing and cognitive psychology from University of Loughborough (2014). Her work brings together cognitive principles and design thinking approaches to education and facilitation. She has written and edited academic publications on drawing, visual literacy and arts integration.

Michelle's present research with the Centre for Social Innovation is looking into the factors influencing the longevity of Community Economic Development Organisations in the UK.

She is co-founder of the Thinking Through Drawing project, a research network and professional development provider that focuses on creativity and visual literacy in education and research.
 

Claudia M. Duffy (PhD Cantab)
European Patent Attorney and Founder, Innovare IP

A Scientist turned Patent Attorney, Claudia enjoys working with young businesses in her diverse roles of patent attorney, IP commercialisation expert, IP consultant, investor and advisory board member. Claudia is also a member of the Young Academy of Scotland where she uses her expertise to contribute to the Enterprising Theme of the Academy. She has also become an entrepreneur by founding Innovare IP, a boutique practice of IP attorneys and IP consultants serving entrepreneurial communities in Scotland and the South-East of the UK.
