Your alumni number is changing
The alumni numbers we use to enable you to access benefits and services as alumni and former postdocs are changing to a new format. Here's what this means for you.
What do I need to do?
You do not need to do anything - the change in number happens automatically. This page summarises the alumni benefits and services that you use your alumni number to access.
What do the new numbers look like?
The new style starts with 'C' followed by seven or more numerical digits, as shown in the example above.
Where is my number used?
You will start to see your new number on the sheet with your address on that comes with the alumni magazine (CAM), emails from us and new or replacement CAMCards issued after Monday 2 April 2018.
You will need to enter your new number to get your alumni discount when buying books from Cambridge University Press online.
No need to get a new CAMCard
You can continue to use your existing CAMCard as usual – you do not have to get a new one with your new number.
What if I forget my new number?
If we have an email address on record for you, you should have received an email from us on 3 April containing your new number.
Should you need to find your new number, you can check any email from us after 2 April or log into the alumni website. Alternatively, you can contact us by phone, letter or email. We still have your old number on record.
Why is this happening?
Your alumni number has changed as part of our transition to a new system. Your previous alumni number remains on record and you are still able to use it with us, however we ask that you use the new number to access services from now on.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
