Cambridge has risen to third place in the QS World University Rankings 2022, the world’s most popular source of comparative data about university performance.

In the new QS World University Rankings, Cambridge received maximum credit in the criteria of academic reputation, staff-to-student ratio (which the QS rankings call 'faculty-student ratio'), and international faculty ratio.

Cambridge also received the top worldwide ranking in two subjects: Anthropology and Archaeology.

In other league tables for the coming academic year, Cambridge was also ranked among the best universities in the world.

In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022, Cambridge was ranked fifth, performing particularly well in research impact and international outlook.

In ShanghaiRanking's Academic Ranking of World Universities, a yearly ranking of over 1,800 universities worldwide, Cambridge placed third - the highest ranked UK university in 2021.

In The Complete University Guide, which ranks UK universities, Cambridge placed second overall for 2022, and was top in the field of research intensity (a measure of the proportion of staff involved in high-quality research).
