York - Walks on NY Moors Lastingham area
Alumni and guests are welcomed to join the Cambridge Society of North and West Yorkshire for a morning walk across the North Yorkshire moors lastingham area and a buffet lunch.
We return to the Western side of the NY Moors, to the Lastingham area, where our base is The Blacksmith’s Arms.
Turn off the A170 Helmsley-Pickering road just outside Kirkbymoorside onto the minor road to Hutton-le-Hole. At the top of the village follow the moorland road signs to Lastingham. The inn is opposite the famous St Cedd’s Church in the village.
We meet and park at the inn at 10am -10.30am for coffee and briefing. After the morning walk(s) we return to the inn for a buffet lunch from about 1pm. There will also be alternative walks in the afternoon. Afternoon tea is widely available and the area has many other attractions, for example the museum in Hutton-le-Hole.
