Alumni and guests are invited to join the Suffolk Cambridge Society for a talk by Paul Stancliffe, of the British Trust for Ornithology. This is the Societies first event for 2018, they will meet at The Bell Hotel in Thetford for a presentation by Paul Stancliffe, Science Media Manager for the British Trust for Ornithology. Paul will talk briefly about the BTO and then about their work in tracking cuckoos from Thetford to Nigeria and beyond. This is a thrilling story that is as important as it is captivating. After a buffet lunch at The Bell Hotel, there is the option of either visiting the BTO’s Nunnery Lakes Bird Reserve or The Ancient House Museum of Thetford Life.

The programme for the day is;
10.30am: Meet in the Captain Mainwaring room at the Bell Hotel for tea/coffee.
11am: Talk by Paul Stancliffe, Science Media Manager for the BTO.
12.30pm:  Buffet lunch in the Captain Mainwaring room.
2pm: Choice of either a visit to the Nunnery Lakes Reserve (walk from the Bell Hotel or park at the BTO car park) or Ancient House Museum which is a short walk from the Bell Hotel. The paths around the Nunnery Lakes Reserve are unsuitable for wheelchairs or for those with walking disabilities (walking boots are advisable).
