Alumni and guests are invited to join the Cambridge Society of Sheffield for a visit to Hope Valley Cement Works and an optional lunch.

It will consist of a short video on the cement making process followed by a visit to the quarry to see both the quarry and factory from the viewing platform. The Quarry/Deputy Quarry Manager will be available to answer questions.

The visit will start at 10.30am. Please meet at the works at 10.15am. Strong footwear is recommended as the ground may be uneven.

Lunch – optional

Following the visit, we will meet for lunch at The Travellers Rest Country Inn at Brough, Bradwell at around 1.15pm.  We are asked to pre order our meal. A menu is attached; please indicate your requirements (with options where offered) when replying.
