We are planning a trip to Hexham Racecourse on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Enjoy 6 exciting races at Hexham, including The Heart of all England Hunter Chase! Situated 600 feet above Hexham, Hexham Racecourse takes full advantage of its natural amphitheatre setting to provide superb viewing of racing. The left-handed undulating track extending to 1 mile 4 furlongs places emphasis on stamina and is surrounded by magnificent countryside. 

We will meet outside the ticket office at 1.00pm. (Latecomers can attempt to contact the organiser, Heather Cordell, by phone – but she will not be guaranteed to hear you! Her contact number will be provided once we receive your booking). Note that we will be standing in the regular Paddock Enclosure, with easy access to bars, food outlets, bookmakers, betting shop, parade ring and saddling boxes together with excellent viewing of the racecourse. However, it can be brutally cold, so please dress appropriately! 

If you wish to bring your own food, picnics are allowed outside, but food is not allowed to be taken into the buildings unless purchased on site. In addition, alcohol must not be brought onto the racecourse, there will be a bag search and security will confiscate any alcohol found.

Note that you must purchase your own tickets for this event. These can be purchased in advance online or by phone (01434 606881) prior to the day (£12 or £10 for over 65s, available until 2pm on Friday 10th May) or else bought at the gate on the day (£15). Racecards, bought on the course, are £3.  

Other guests, including family members and friends, are welcome to join us. Note that under 18’s have Free Admission when accompanied by an adult.
