Alumni and guests are invited to join the CAMentrepreneurs for “First steps on the entrepreneurial journey: how to get off to the right start.”

Our 2018/19 program is designed to give new entrepreneurs – and those along the way – solid guidance on how to get started and move forward successfully. We will cover this in three separate meetings over the course of the year. Our speakers will include experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and subject matter experts on finance, law, business development, and much more. By the end we hope you will have a good knowledge of all your options and some best practices.

As usual we will begin and end the evening with networking. Refreshments and cash bar before and after the session.

For our kick-off meeting we will cover the following:

Series Introduction and Welcome - Robert Howells, NYC Chair, CAMentrepreneurs

What do I do first? Richard Guha and Premal Kamdar

An experienced entrepreneur and start-up expert and a new entrepreneur give valued advice on the very first steps. You have an idea and a burning wish to build a business on it. Now what? How do you go about it it from a practical point of view?

Building the Team – Richard Guha and Kit Cheung

Do I have/need partners? What skills am I missing? Failure in this area is the biggest single cause of venture failure. How best to build a long-term working relationship with partners and key employees? How do I avoid pitfalls but do the right thing with partners/co-founders/early employees? Kit Cheung will share her insight with Richard Guha.

Finance and Legal Structure – Richard Guha and Andrew Hudders

What financial and legal structure makes the most sense? What are my objectives? What are my needs? Richard and attorney Andrew Hudders discuss the options

We will finish with a Q and A
