London - Treasure Hunt in the City of London
London - Treasure Hunt in the City of London
Test your detection skills in a treasure hunt around the City of London, the historic heart of London and today the financial district. This is where London began, almost 2,000 years ago, as Roman Londinium. As the financial “square mile” it is home to the Bank of England and numerous banks and financial services companies. It makes the perfect location for a treasure hunt as it is filled with statues, interesting buildings, quirky street names, layers of history beneath our feet and historical references.
The treasure hunt combines sharp observation skills, a little bit of lateral thinking, a sense of humour and a little bit of general knowledge. Don’t worry, you do not need to be a trivial pursuit master or University Challenge genius – most of the clues can be solved by looking around you. Caroline has learnt from previous experience quite how competitive members of the Cambridge Society are (!) so the treasure hunt will be capped at 1.5 hours long. Teams will need to follow descriptive geographical directions, solve clues to work out where to go or what to look for, and answer closed questions about the features you find. However, there will also be bonus questions for those who want to stretch themselves!
The treasure hunt will be completed in teams of 2. If you book with someone else then you will be assumed to be a team of 2 and this will be confirmed in the joining instructions. All other attendees will be placed in teams by Caroline.
