Harrogate - 'Convoy' a talk by Dr Phil Judkins
This event is in the past.
Date: Saturday, 20 January 2018
Venue: Cedar Court Hotel, Park Parade, Harrogate, HG1 5HA
Ticket price: £10 (payable on day)
Hear from Dr Phil Judkins about the story of three convoys during World War II: one transatlantic, one to Russia and one to Malta, each illustrating particular features of the critical series of battles, which Churchill admitted to having been 'the only thing which frightened him in the whole War'. Enigma decrypts, radar, high frequency direction finding, escort carriers and the various U-Boat strategies against them will all be discussed during the talk.
Lunch can be ordered and paid for on the day, at the bar.
