Dorset - Visit to Houghton Lodge
This event has been cancelled.
Alumni and guests are invited to join the Cambridge Society of Dorset for a visit to Houghton Lodge.
This was built in the Cottage Ornée style for the Pitt-Rivers family and is set in a beautiful location by the River Test near Stockbridge. A talk and guided tour of the house by Sophie Busk, the present owner, fits in with lunch and time to explore the garden and grounds, which were the location for scenes from the television production of David Copperfield with Maggie Smith.
There is a limit of 50 visitors for this event.
But we probably shouldn't be using them any more. Let's check if we are and then delete them. This is not a timed event - the library will be open through the day 10am to 4pm for alumni to drop in and see our collections with focus on our Alaska holdings. Staff will be on hand to talk about the library and archives.
Details on how to book for the event will be available nearer to the event.
Houghton Lodge is in the heart of the Test Valley, five minutes from the small town of Stockbridge, Hampshire.
