Alumni and guests are invited to join the Cambridge Society of Dorset for a talk by Major General Peter Williams CMG OBE, a history graduate from Magdalene College, Cambridge. He is an exciting and dynamic speaker with an entertaining and humorous manner. His fascinating life has been full of espionage and intelligence with an insightful knowledge of the human aspects of history from his time as an operational commander and military diplomat during and after the Cold War. ‘My Life as a Cold War Spy’ examines the three Allied military liaison missions that operated as intelligence agencies in East Germany from 1946-90. It is based on his long involvement in the 1980s with these extraordinary Cold War organisations as one of their ‘licensed spies’.

Bryanston’s usual splendid 3-course sit-down lunch will complete the day.
