Open to:
Alumni and guests

The Cambridge Society of Belgium invites those of our members who may be in the Brussels area on 18th June to join them for a talk followed by dinner on the historical importance of Brussels in the Middle Ages. Access has been arranged to two locations not normally open to the public: The Hungarian Cultural Institute, Balassi Institute, (Treurenberg 10, 1000 Bruxelles) is so gracious to open its doors for us, since part of it is the original 13th century city wall. We will also be able to bring an exclusive visit to the Brussels cathedral deanery, where a watch tower from the same city wall is preserved. This will be accompanied by a talk from Roel Jacobs, historical consultant to the official tourism office Visit Brussels. The event is followed by dinner in a local restaurant.
