Exploring Romania

Discover the beauty and diversity of Romania on this walking tour that takes you to some of the most scenic and historic places in Europe. You will marvel at the cultural and artistic treasures that reflect a rich and complex past, shaped by various civilizations and influences. You will also experience the vibrant and authentic life of the Romanian people, who express their spirituality and traditions through their music, arts, food and customs.

Dr Koller will guide you through the fascinating cultural heritage of Romania, which consists of three former principalities: Transylvania, Moldavia and Wallachia. You will learn how Romania’s culture has been influenced by ancient Greeks and Romans, Slavic, Bulgarian and Hungarian invaders, Byzantium, German settlers, Ottoman Turks and the Habsburg empire. You will see how these influences have blended with the ancient indigenous civilization of the Geto-Dacians to create a unique and diverse artistic and architectural legacy.

But most of all, this journey is about exploring the natural wonders of Romania on foot. You will walk through enchanting landscapes of mountains and forests, where rustic farms and traditional villages dot the countryside.
