Dr David Beresford-Jones

Dr David Beresford-Jones is an Affiliated Scholar of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research at Cambridge University. For the past two decades he has directed investigations into ancient human-environment interactions on the south coast of Peru, an area he knows intimately. His interests include hunter-gatherers, the origins of agriculture, Pre-Colombian textiles, and the synthesis of archaeology and historical linguistics. He is the author and editor of books, including The Lost Woodlands of Ancient Nasca (OUP), Archaeology and Language in the Andes (OUP) and Rethinking the Andes-Amazonia Divide (UCL Press), along with over fifty journal articles and book chapters.
