Cambridge Society of Essex

The Cambridge Society of Essex offers the warmest of welcomes to Cambridge alumni, their spouses and their friends, and indeed to anyone who enjoys our company! We have a wide range of life experiences and interests represented among us. Most of us are retired – but some are not. You can become a member of the Society even if you are not an alum of Cambridge.
To ensure that you do not miss out on what we have to offer, we invite you to become a member of the Cambridge. The annual subscription fee for 2024 January - December will be £28 single and £45 for a couple living at the same address.
Every year we put together a fascinating programme of lecture/talks to interest members and their guests, followed by a really good lunch. Also, we have Summer Outing each year, usually to a place of interest in Essex and a Garden Party hosted by members to support a charity of their choice.

Past Events
Nick Wickenden’s talk at our lunch on 17th February was extremely enjoyable. As archivist of Wilkins Jams at Tiptree he took us through the history of this iconic business, beginning with the purchase of some extremely poor land in the 18th century to the process of obtaining a new royal warrant after the coronation of Charles III.
