Alumni and guests are invited to join the Cambridge Society of Sheffield for their autumn walk and lunch, you can either walk, lunch, or both. We have two choices of walk - short and longer.

For the lunch, we need your menu choices by end of Monday 17th October.

Lunch is booked for 1 pm at The Bridge Inn, Ridgeway Moor (road), Ford, Ridgeway, Sheffield, S12 3YD. Click here to see the menu. The soup will be creamy vegetable soup, and the curry is chicken tikka masala. You will need to pay for meals on the day. The Bridge Inn is on the road between Ridgeway and Marsh Lane, on the left at the bottom of the hill from Ridgeway.

Shorter Walk

• We will meet at the Bridge Inn for coffee and chat, from about 10:00am, and at 11am, set off on a short walk down the Moss valley. People can stay at the pub, or walk as little or as much as they choose, as its an out and back walk so you can turn around at any point. You can park in the pub car park for the short walk.

Longer Walk

• We will start and finish from Ford Wheel Dam car park, 100m from the Bridge Inn. Note that for the long walk please do not park in the Bridge Inn car park, but instead park in the Ford Wheel Dam car park, which is just down a small lane next to the side of the Bridge Inn's car park. The correct car park is the one next to the fishing pond.

From the car park, we will do a loop around the Moss Valley to Eckington church and back. The walk is 5 1/2 miles long with 500 ft of ascent. We will take a few minutes at the church to have a look around - its a Grade 1 listed Norman church and dates from the 12th century.

Meet at the Ford Wheel Dam car park at 9:45am for a 10am start.
