  • Dinner in Argentina

This Group arranges a yearly dinner (formal black tie and all that) for alumni from Cambridge and that other place. These dinners have been held regularly since the early 1900s when the first graduates returned to the country. The dinner is organised by a small group called 'The Keepers of the Book'; the book being the record of the yearly dinner attendees, menus, speeches, etc. This book has been passed on to three generations of Oxbridge matriculates. At this event it is customary to toast each University after a carefully drafted witty speech and the event is, of course, riddled with continuous toasts.
