Join Nirvana Romell for an introductory talk offering an insight into South Africa’s complex history, modern identity and key contributions to our civilisation.

A place of magnificent natural beauty, South Africa has also made tremendous contributions to the world’s culture, history, politics, and economy. This mineral superpower is Africa’s largest economy, and the only permanent African member of the G20. As a founding member of BRICS, it has become a primary diplomatic bridge in world politics and a voice for the Global South. A cradle of humankind, it has yielded the majority of the world's hominid fossil discoveries, fundamentally shaping our understanding of human origins. Both a glorious and deeply troubled place, this Rainbow Nation has also offered us blueprints for diverse national identity and transitional justice.
