The Norfolk Cambridge Society has great pleasure in inviting you to the first of a new series of lectures. This first lecture will be given by Professor Christopher Andrew on the topic of '500 years of Cambridge Spies - Lessons for the Modern World'. We are sure it will be a fascinating and entertaining talk, of considerable relevance not only to people with an interest in the intelligence services but also to anyone engaged in handling confidential information.

Christopher is Emeritus Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at Cambridge, founder of the internationally renowned Cambridge Intelligence Seminar (addressed by former heads of Russian foreign intelligence and Mossad as well as of western agencies and leading researchers in the field) and former chair of the Faculty of History at the University. He is also chair of the British Intelligence Study Group and has been a regular presenter of BBC Radio and TV documentaries. His recent book, The Defence of the Realm: The Authorised History of MI5, was an international bestseller.

There will be opportunities for questions after the talk and to buy signed copies of Christopher's new book, The Secret World: A History of Intelligence.

The Society's lectures will continue to be held quarterly thereafter, with the aim of bringing distinguished speakers to Norwich at regular intervals and making a significant contribution to the intellectual life of the county. We hope they will also become a stimulating meeting ground for Cambridge alumni of all ages and for many others of like mind.

We very much hope you will join us for this fascinating inaugural lecture and for future lectures in our series.
