Enjoy a walking tour around historic maritime Greenwich, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will see the elegant sailing ship the Cutty Sark and then explore the grounds of the old Greenwich Palace, today the Old Royal Naval College built c1700 by Christopher Wren as a Naval Hospital for old and injured sailors. Its stunning architecture has made it a popular film and TV location!

Next we will visit The Queen’s House, an architectural masterpiece by Inigo Jones, and today home to an impressive art collection. This includes wonderful portraits of Tudor and Stuart kings and queens, the iconic Armada portrait, as well as paintings celebrating some of Britain’s great naval heroes and battles.

Lastly we will walk through Greenwich Park to the Royal Observatory, home of 0 Longitude. The tour does not include entrance to the Observatory, but you can admire Wren’s original building, built for the Astronomer Royal Sir John Flamsteed, and learn how the “longitude problem” was finally solved. From the iconic London viewpoint at the top of the hill we will admire London spread out at our feet!
