Open to:
Alumni and guests

Alumni and guests are invited to join the Cambridge Society of Dorset a talk by Lt Col (Retd) Brannigan - The history of Blandford Camp, followed by lunch at the Tarrant Monkton, in the country a few miles east of Blandford.

Bob has researched the history of the Camp over 6,500 years from very early settlements through the middle ages to the present day. The importance of the camp rose when the military started to use it in the last 300 years, and Bob will focus particularly on this latter period of development through the two World Wars to its current use. He is involved as a staff officer at the Camp and will describe modern training and the links to the local community.

Many of you will remember that we visited the Langton Arms in Tarrant Monkton last year for a talk on farming, so it is with great pleasure that we return to this most hospitable of venues with the prospect of another superb lunch made from meat raised on their own farm. More details are on the attached booking form.
