Cumbria, Lunch and a talk on “Visual Disorders and the Visual Arts”
We will meet from 12pm for lunch at 12.30 in the Greta Suite at The Skiddaw Hotel, Keswick. We will have a buffet lunch with tea/coffee.
After lunch Dr. Gordon Plant will talk on Visual Disorders and the Visual Arts. Much has been written regarding the influence that visual disorders might have on the work produced by artists, particularly painters. In this talk Dr. Plant will debunk some ideas, support others and introduce some novel concepts.
Gordon Plant attended Woking Grammar School for Boys, Downing College Cambridge and St. Thomas' Hospital Medical School. He became a Neurologist but developed an interest in related eye disorders. Gordon returned to the Department of Physiology in Cambridge and spent time in San Francisco training in Visual Neuroscience. He is an amateur watercolourist and has exhibited with the Cambridge Drawing Society.
