Boston, MA: Tour of Old North Church and Dinner
Boston, MA: Tour of Old North Church and Dinner
The afternoon includes an immersive audio tour, visit to the crypt, and guided tour of the famous Bell Tower. Following our tour of Old North, we will enjoy an optional “pay your own” dinner at a classic Italian restaurant, Mamma Maria.
We will begin the afternoon with an immersive audio tour of Old North, where you will learn 35 minutes of the church’s secrets and stories.
It weaves together the story of Paul Revere’s famous lantern signal with recent research into the lives of Old North’s free and enslaved Indigenous and Black congregants.
Next, we will explore the bell ringing chamber: a unique behind-the-scenes area. We will learn about Old North’s famous bells, notable bell ringers (including Paul Revere), and the art of change ringing.
Lastly, we will tour the famous crypt, where Boston’s wealthiest families paid to be buried closest to the altar, believing they would arrive more quickly in heaven than those buried farther away!
