The Oxford and Cambridge Alumni Society, Czech Republic are pleased to invite you to join them in cheering on this year's Oxford and Cambridge boat race.

The latest UK Government guidance means that the 76th Women’s and the 167th Men’s Oxford and Cambridge Boat Races will return to the famous Championship Course that stretches over 4.25 miles of the tidal Thames in West London between Putney and Mortlake. The Women’s Boat Race will start at 14.23 UK time and the Men’s Boat Race will begin at 15.23 UK time. If you are a rowing fan, if you are a sports fan, or even if you are an Oxbridge fan, you won't need to fly to London to see it in the cold and wet, because the OCAS Committee is busy organising a viewing event right here in Prague that will allow us to come together to meet once again after the restrictions of 2021 and cheer on your respective team.

For the uninitiated amongst you (are there any when it comes to the boat race?) this world-famous sporting event between the UK’s two historic universities – Oxford and Cambridge – spans 185 years of rivalry and the Race has become synonymous with British tradition and excellence. The Race has established itself as the epitome of amateur sport, raced by scholar athletes who combine academic rigour with elite physical prowess. There is no greater sporting occasion in the University sports calendar. As of 2021, Cambridge has won the men's race 85 times and Oxford 80 times, with one dead heat.
