Join Professor Jim Crow as he explores the changing views of research into one of Rome’s most enigmatic monuments.

Little was written by ancient writers about Britannia’s northern frontier but the surviving remains are exceptional, often set in stunning landscapes. Our knowledge has been acquired over centuries and interpretations have evolved as to why the Wall was built and how it functioned. Professor Crow will take the long view and consider how new research continues to inform old questions.
