The Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) provides short and part-time courses for adults of all ages, taught by leading experts, including Cambridge academics, researchers and industry professionals. Options range from residential weekends right up to part-time Postgraduate Qualifications and cover a wide variety of academic subjects.

ICE is part of the University of Cambridge and was founded in 1873, making it the oldest continuing education department in the country. It is based at Madingley Hall, a beautiful 16th-century manor house set in eight acres of landscaped gardens on the outskirts of Cambridge.

In addition to its Madingley courses, ICE also provides a growing programme of online courses – enabling you to continue your Cambridge education from anywhere in the world!

ICE courses offer a perfect way of exploring a new subject or learning a new skill, with courses focusing on the arts and sciences, creative writing, literature, film studies, and professional studies.

CAMCard holders are eligible for a 25% discount on course fees for ICE-owned and managed courses. This offer includes Postgraduate Certificates and Diplomas, Undergraduate Certificates, Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas, as well as day schools, weekends, weekly classes, online courses and summer programmes. Please visit for details of how to apply and any exclusions.
