Alumni Awards FAQs

On our nomination forms you’ll be prompted to login first. Enter your email address on the login form, and you will be guided through the login or registration process. 

When registering you will be asked to confirm some details such as your alumni number, date of birth and matriculation college. These checks help us to protect your information. 

You can find your alumni number at the bottom of all the communications you have received from the Alumni Engagement team, for example, the monthly newsletter.  

If you are unable to locate your alumni number, have never been issued with one, or are a member of staff please contact a member of the Alumni Engagement team at contact@alumni.cam.ac.uk.  

We recommend you draft your responses to the questions in a separate format (i.e. word / google docs) and copy and paste your answers into the form. This will ensure you have a safe copy of your nomination responses in case of any issues before the form is submitted. 

We recommend that you contact the person you wish to nominate before submitting your form. This allows you to let them know you would like to put them forward for an Alumni Award, and ensures your submission is valid, as they will need to accept the nomination.

Once you have submitted your nomination, we will send you a link and reference number. You must share these with your nominee so they can complete their part of the form.

You will need your letter of recommendation to complete the online application. You will be able to save your application form part way through, if needed.

The uploaded letter of recommendation, should include: 

  • Your full name: 
  • University identifier (If applicable - i.e crsID, Alumni number, USN): 
  • Your relationship to the nominee? 
  • Recommendation based on the relevant Award criteria.  

    Letters of recommendation can be uploaded as PDFs (.pdf) or Word documents (.doc, .docx). 

    No longer than 500 words.

    If for any reason you are unable to or experience any issues while uploading your letter of recommendation, please contact a member of the Alumni Engagement at contact@alumni.cam.ac.uk

    If the error was ‘Response code 403’, then please check your submission for unusual special characters in the text and remove them. If this doesn’t work, or you see a different error, please contact us at contact@alumni.cam.ac.uk . 

    Yes, if you have a connection to Cambridge University i.e current student, University employee. Please fill out our nominator form and ensure you login using your @cam.ac.uk University account.
