Alumni Awards – Data Protection and Privacy Notice
The University of Cambridge is the data controller for all personal information collected for the Alumni Awards. This notice explains how we use and protect your data.
What information do we collect
We collect:
- Name, contact details, and alumni data (College, matriculation year, and course name).
- Professional and biographical information.
- Nomination statements, supporting materials, and media files.
How we use your data
Your data will be used to:
- Administer the Awards.
- Verify eligibility.
- Judge nominations.
- Communicate with nominators and nominees.
Consent
By submitting a nomination, nominators and nominees consent to the University:
- Using their name, profile, and images in University publications, digital channels, and promotional materials relating to the Awards.
- Contacting them about participation in publicity, interviews, or photography.
Sharing your data
Personal data may be shared with third parties directly involved in the Awards (e.g., judging panel members).
Retention
We will retain nomination data only for as long as necessary for the administration, evaluation, and archiving of the Awards.
