Join the Cambridge Society of Cumbria for a truly distinctive welcome social in a beautiful Lake District setting. There's a special opportunity to meet the team behind the replica seaplane Waterbird before a light supper at the Low Wood Bay Resort, and flights to view.

You will then have the chance to watch this remarkable aircraft take to the water at Windermere, honouring its historic 1911 flight as the first aeroplane outside France and the USA to successfully take off from and land on water. This is a unique and memorable way to connect with fellow alumni while experiencing a piece of aviation history.

The itinerary for the day...

3.15pm - Meet at the Low Wood Bay Resort Car Park (LA23 1LP).  There is limited parking at the Air Base so we will need to share transport.

3.45pm - Arrive at the Flight Base.

4.45pm - Return to the Low Wood Bay Resort where we have reserved the Buckley Private Dining Space.  We will have a selection of sandwiches, fresh chips, a variety of cakes with tea and coffee.

5.15pm to 5.45pm - Flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

6.45pm - The flight of the replica Waterboard and a chance to meet the flight team.
