Join us for two fascinating talks presented by Jon Baines Tours, delving into the unique history, culture, and character of some of Britain’s most remote and intriguing islands.

Guernsey – Rock of Hospitality
Discover the unique history, culture, and character of Guernsey, famously dubbed “Rock of Hospitality” by Victor Hugo in 1855. In this engaging talk, we’ll explore Guernsey’s geography, climate, and community, as well as delve into some of the fascinating locations. An insightful look at one of the Channel Islands’ most charming destinations.

Iron Age Shetland
Discover the dramatic landscapes, and layered heritage of Shetland. This talk offers a window into life and history at the northern edge of Britain.

Both talks promise an engaging mix of history, storytelling and island atmosphere, perfect for anyone curious about Britain’s lesser-known island communities.
