From 4 to 7 December, Cambridge alumnus David Evans led the Thanh Da Boat Club from Ho Chi Minh City and participated in the Shenzhen Rowing Invitational. The opportunity came about quite unexpectedly, sparked by a casual lunch in HCMC and a dinner in Hanoi earlier this year, when a member of the Shenzhen Cambridge Society, who rows in Shenzhen and had the chance to row with David in Ho Chi Minh, crossed paths with local alumni while traveling.

This milestone showcases the power of alumni connections — bringing together Oxbridge graduates from Vietnam, China, and across Asia.
