The Cambridge Alumni Group of the Dordogne is a friendly, cheerful and diverse group, with about 120 members (70 alumni and 50 partners). Despite our name, we have members in seven départements in southwest France, from Limoges in the north, to south of Marmande, and from La Rochelle in the west, to east of Cahors. Some of us live here permanently, some part-time; some are working, some retired. We cover a very wide range of ages (our senior member matriculated in 1950, our newest member in 2017) and have a whole variety of professions and activities amongst our members.

We have two ‘official’ lunches, in May and September, usually with a speaker or a visit to some local place of interest; a couple of summer evening events (e.g. concerts, open-air Shakespeare etc); and when feasible, one or more informal ‘at home’ lunches over the winter.

New members are always warmly welcome, as are visiting alumni who happen to be in the Dordogne. The group is determinedly non-bureaucratic, with no membership fee or other requirements, so if you live in, spend time in or are planning to visit the Dordogne, do please get in touch and we will be delighted to let you know what activities are coming up or to add you to our distribution list.
