Cambridge Society (ACT Branch)

Cambridge Society (ACT Branch)

The Cambridge Society of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) would be delighted to hear of any alumni living in, or visiting, Canberra.  Each year we hold a range of interesting and convivial events, many held in association with our colleagues in the Oxford Society of the ACT, and often featuring guest speakers with a close association to Cambridge.  In recent years, these events have included an annual Oxbridge garden party held in the autumn.  We also provide advice and support to those in the Canberra region who are thinking of applying to Cambridge or who will be studying there, or taking up academic postings there, in the near future – and to alumni returning or moving to Canberra who would like to network with other alumni.  We currently have 110 alumni in the group and are always keen to add more members!

Our 110 members cover a wide age range, from those who have just completed their degree at Cambridge, to those who graduated many years ago.  Our members are employed across a range of sectors, with many members attached to the Australian National University or other universities, or working in the Federal public service, especially the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Attorney-General’s Department, or the ACT public service – although other members work in the private sector or run their own companies or professional practices.
