Vancouver - 2023 Oxford and Cambridge Annual Party
Saturday 22 April 2023, 6.30pm to 10.00pm PDT
The Vancouver Island Oxford and Cambridge Society is pleased to invite you to the 2023 Annual Party, on Saturday, 22 of April 2023, at 1021 Gillespie Place, Victoria – the home of Leigh Large Sr., who has once again kindly offered to host us.
All those with Oxford or Cambridge affiliation and their guests are encouraged to attend for an evening of socialising, renewing old acquaintances and making new ones, and music. Video of the Cambridge-Oxford boat races will be available. In addition, Leigh has generously arranged a performance by the Victoria tenor Ken Lavigne.
Program:
6:30 – 7:30: Arrive at Highbury for socialising, along with drinks, delectable served canapes and cold platters.
7:30: Brief welcome remarks by Dr. Dorothy Kennedy.
7:45: Summary of races and toast to the universities by Dr. Shaun Peck; recharge glasses.
8:00 – 9:00: Welcome by our host Leigh Large; introduction to a concert by tenor Ken Lavigne and musicians.
9:00 – 10:00: Socializing (wine, coffee/tea, cakes and cheese buffet).
10:00 – 10:15: Farewell.
Booking information
The cost of the party is $40 per person. Please RSVP as soon as possible (cut-off date is Saturday, 15th April) so that we are able to confirm numbers with the caterer. Confirm your attendance by email to events@viocs.ca or by phone to our Treasurer, James Tirrul-Jones, at 778-265-6981.
