Last year was the first time we held the event in Sydney and, given the enthusiastic turnout and positive response, CAS has decided to host the event in Sydney again this year.

The event is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of this year's 11 new scholars and to introduce them to the donors who make their Cambridge studies possible. The scholars will briefly outline the research they plan to undertake at Cambridge, providing guests with a fascinating insight into the breadth of talent that CAS is proud to support. Some of the research topics this year include:

• Environmental archeology: urban decline in bronze age Mesopotamia
• NeuroAI: linking artificial and biological intelligence systems
• Theoretical physics: thermal field theory and the early universe
• Classics: influence of the colleges of priests on Roman foreign policy
• Computer science: Machine learning and privacy

In addition, the evening provides an excellent opportunity for alumni, donors, and friends of CAS to reconnect, meet our newest scholars, and hear about our plans for the coming year.
