More location information You're invited to our next meeting to be held at Oake Manor Golf Course on the 22 September, at which we will be given a talk by Andrew Leitch, Head of Archives for the UK Hydrographic Office, which is located in Taunton.The UKHO was established in 1795, and for over 230 years has been responsible for the production of Admiralty Charts supporting safe navigational over the World. Its archive includes more than fourteen million items including charts, survey records, diaries and even the original hand-engraved copper plates used for printing. The archive is still consulted today by maritime authorities, ports, navies and governments for authoritative information on the seabed and seacoasts.
