Jessica Shaw MLA is the Member for Swan Hills and serves as Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier and Minister for State and Industry Development, Jobs and Trade; Federal-State Relations; and Public Sector Management.

Prior to entering Parliament, she had a decade-long career as an executive in the energy sector, preceded by positions in the WA Parliament, where she advised the Economics and Industry Committee; the Australian Senate, where she advised the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee; and as the Political and Economic Attaché to the British High Commission. 

In 2005/6, Jessica attended Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge to complete an LLM. Her thesis focused on the ability of Legislatures to hold the Executive branches of government to account where one political party controls both houses of Parliament. Over her career, Jessica has considered these issues as an officer of two Parliaments, as an academic and now as an elected Member of the Cook government in the WA Legislative Assembly.
