Professor Andrew Dzurak (Emmanuel 88) heads Sydney-based company Diraq, which bases its technology on silicon, the material that comprises of over a quarter of the Earth’s crust. Diraq is a world leader in developing quantum processors that use silicon 'quantum dot' technology.

Importantly, Diraq’s technology leverages the same silicon manufacturing processes that produce chips in our laptops and phones, with advanced manufacturing of silicon spin wafers in semiconductor foundries, enabling a faster, more cost-effective pathway to market for its quantum technology.

Diraq aims to scale qubits on a single chip to the many millions, and eventually billions. This will enable practical and powerful commercial applications, positioning Diraq as a key player in the future of quantum computing.
