Professor Webster is the Director of the Centre for Transformative Innovation at Swinburne University of Technology and Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research Impact and Policy. Her expertise centres on the economics of the way knowledge is created and diffused through the economy. With a PhD in economics from the University of Cambridge and a M.Ec and B.Ec (hons) from Monash University, this fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences Australia has authored over 100 articles on the economics of innovation and firm performance and has been published in RAND Journal of Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Industrial Economics, Journal of Law & Economics and the Journal of International Economics and Research Policy. Past President of the European Policy for Intellectual Property Association and the Asia Pacific Innovation Conference network, Professor Webster was named the 2022 Distinguished Fellow of the Economic Society of Australia.
With further experience on a suite of committees and advisory councils, Professor Beth Webster’s presentation is bound to stimulate the mind on economic reform in Australia.
