Luxembourg, Birds and Buffalos at the Nature Reserve
Luxembourg, Birds and Buffalos at the Nature Reserve
We have teamed with Oxford alumni to give us a unique opportunity to view the Munsbach Schlammwiss and Menster Brill Nature Reserves. We meet at 9am at Munsbach football club car park to visit the bird ringing station. The Munsbach train station is close by. Guided birdwatching tour and bird ringing. (+/- 2hrs). Afterwards we will drive 5 minutes to the buffalo hide in Mensdorf (the other side of the Munsbach nature reserve) to see whether the herd is in residence. (+/- 1/2hr)
We are delighted to be guided by ornithologist Philip Birget who actually designed the reserve as his first project! Philip is currently the Chef de Service at the Administration de la Nature et des ForĂȘts. Philip holds a first-class degree in biological sciences from the University of Oxford as well as a master of science in quantitative biology and a phd in ecology and evolutionary biology.
To wrap up the morning we have been invited for drinks and a warm bowl of soup and to continue spotting birds in the Mensdorf reserve from an alumni's house.
