Geneva - Jura Flower walk
Geneva - Jura Flower walk
Oxford and Cambridge Club of Geneva Members and their guests are invited to join Isobel Shaw on a flower walk in the Jura, on Sunday 14th May
Please contact Isobel directly.
Meet Isobel at 10.30am in the big car park at La Givrine, just after La Givrine railway station. If you wish to come by train, there is one that leaves Nyon at 9.22 and arrives at La Givrine at 10.08. We will car pool for the 15-minute drive from la Givrine to the beginning of the walk in France.
The walk will take place no matter what the weather and will last about two hours along a jeep track and across the fields. Suitable walking boots/shoes are essential and a walking stick is recommended as the ground may be rough in places.
We will walk very slowly to look at, and photograph the flowers, so we will only walk a couple of kilometres. Those who would like to sit down and rest may do so, as the group will remain within view across the fields and there is no chance of getting lost. Isobel knows the area well and will choose a suitable trail according to the conditions and to the wishes of those who come. You can even split into two groups if necessary. Isobel will book for a late lunch in a restaurant in Les Rousses, France. Bring Euro. We will each pay for our own food and drink. Isobel will send out the choice of menu to those who apply.
