Professor Erwin Reisner has been Cambridge’s Professor of Energy and Sustainability since 2017. After completing his PhD at at the University of Vienna, he did postdoctoral research at MIT and the University of Oxford. Erwin has previously directed the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Sustainable SynGas and the UK Solar Fuels Network. He is the academic lead of the Cambridge Circular Plastics Centre, and co-director of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Integrated Functional Nano. His laboratory explores the interface of chemical biology, synthetic chemistry, and materials science relevant to developing solar-driven processes for the sustainable synthesis of fuels and chemicals.
