Cheshire and North Wales: Visit to Poulton Hall
Poulton Hall is a 17th Century country house. It is the third on the site, built in 1652, with additions in 1720, 1840, 1960, 1990 and 2024. The gardens are on a general theme of Children's Literature, covering a wide range of authors including the owner's father.
The site has been occupied by the same family for over 900 years.
The numbers are limited to 20 splits into two groups on a first come first served basis. One group will tour the house while the other group with tour the gardens. Each tour will last an hour before lunch. After lunch the groups will swap.
11:15 - Brief talk by the owner Scirard Lancelyn Green about the family history (both groups)
11:30-12:30 - First tour (house or garden)
12:30-13:30 - Lunch (both groups)
13:30-14:30 - Second tour (house or garden)
A light lunch of sandwiches, cake, tea or coffee will be provided.
The visit to the house includes stairs. There are accessible toilets.
